Telematic Passenger Information System – Bus Stop Codes

OASTH passengers may be informed about telematic services by telephone (mobile or fixed), through an interactive response system.

How does it work?

  • Simply call 2310-981100 and you will be connected to OASTH’s call centre, then press ‘0’ to be conncected with the telematic services.
  • The application operates based on a system of unique five-digit numbers (stop codes) corresponding to each OASTH bus stop. This code is depicted on the signs adjacent to each bus stop (see photo 1 & 2). Alternatively, you may quickly and easily find the code for any bus stop on the organisation’s website; go to the “Tools” menu, select “Bus Line Information” and you will find all the stops each bus line makes with the corresponding five-digit code (IVR).

  • The following functions, organised depending on the information a user is searching for, are now be available.

After entering the number of the bus line and the bus stop code, the system will give you an estimated time of arrival at the specific stop for the first three (3) busses of the line you selected. 

More than one line arrivals

After entering the bus stop code, the system will give you the specific stop and the arrival times of the first bus of every line passing by that stop. 

 Stops made by a specific line

The system will give you the names of all the stops a specific bus line makes in both directions.

User scenarios:

1. Searching for bus arrival times:

      • The system asks the user to enter a line number. The number may be entered either in single-digit format (e.g. 3) or in two-digit format (e.g. 03).
      • The system asks the user to enter a bus stop’s code. The stop’s code is entered in five-digit format (e.g. 54048, 01248 etc.)
      • The system announces the time of arrival of the three first buses of the line the user entered for a particular stop.

2. Searching for bus arrival times:

      • The system asks the user to enter a bus stop’s code. The stop’s code is entered in five-digit format (e.g. 54048, 01248 etc.)
      • The system announces the time of arrival of all the lines that stop at the specific bus stop.

3. Searching for the stops of a specific line:

      • The system asks the user to enter a line number. The number may be entered either in one-digit format (e.g. 3) or in two-digit format (e.g. 03).
      • The system asks the user to select the line’s direction. Travel from the start terminal is selected by pressing 1 and travel from the end terminal is selected by pressing 2.
      • The system reports the names of all the stops the specific line makes in the direction the user has selected. 

4. Searching for lines stopping at a specific stop:

      • The system asks the user to enter a bus stop’s code. The bus stop’s code is entered in five-digit format (e.g. 54048, 01248 etc.)
      • The system reports the names of all the lines that stop at the specific bus stop the user selected.

Important: At the moment it is not possible to search for a line that contains a letter as well as a number, for example 36A, 66B, 85Τ, etc.
