BUS DRIVERS ARE OBLIGED TO:

• Wear their service uniform
• Behave in a civil manner
• Drive in a safe manner within the speed limits and not to brake suddenly
• Stop at the pre-designated stops to pick up and drop off passengers
• Not to open the doors en route; or to move off before all the passengers have boarded or left the bus and doors have been closed
• Not to smoke inside the bus
• Not to use a cell (mobile) phone or radio.

TICKET INSPECTORS ARE OBLIGED TO:

• Show their identification badge at all times while carrying out their duties
• Conduct the inspection with politeness and discretion
• Inform the passengers that they are obliged to pay the statutory fares; and the precise reason for issuing a fine
• Provide their personal information (surname and registration number ) when requested by a passenger
• Advise the passenger of the relevant fine, in writing; giving the full details as well as collecting due payments or giving information to the offenders about methods of payment.

PASSENGERS:

• Must purchase a ticket before boarding the bus
• Must have their ticket punched on boarding the bus. The ticket must be retained during the entire trip and displayed in case of an inspection.
• Who are entitled to concessionary fares, are obliged to show their concessionary documents during inspection. If they do not, they will be liable for the statutory fine for passengers without a valid ticket
• Should respect employees of the organization
• Should clearly indicate their intention to board or alight from the bus in a prompt and timely manner
• Should give up designated seats for the elderly or disabled or people with special needs (such as pregnant women or people with young children) when requested
• Must not verbally or physically abuse the driver or other bus company employees.
